Figure 5.2, Animal trials, 1520-1900. A bar chart shows the number of lawsuits against animals. Lawsuits against rodents have fallen below 10 cases, while those against insects have reached almost 30. Lawsuits against pigs and oxen are below 15, while those against horses are around 25. Lawsuits against donkeys, on the other hand, are just over 10. Lawsuits against goats and sheep are fewer than five.
